Pop & Rock
Al
Hazan - It would take a book (or two) to chronicle the entirety
of Al Hazan's incredible career-- a mere blurb only scratches the surface.
Having done business variously under the names B. Bumble and the Stingers
(whose classic "Nut Rocker" still haunts airwaves and soundtracks,
and was covered by ELP), Al Anthony, Dudley Duncan, and Al and The Galaxies
just hints at the depth of Al's resume. Ritchie Valens recorded his song,
"Hi-Tone"; he frequently worked with legendary producer/composer
Jack Nitzsche, and honed his craft at sessions with Phil Spector; he produced
the Beau Brummels, heart throbs Johnny Crawford and James Darren, Terry
Melcher, Yvonne DeCarlo and The Blossoms, among many others. He worked
with Fred Astaire, Sonny Bono, Herb Alpert and studio giants Hal Blaine,
Carol Kaye, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Ray Pohlman, Tommy Tedesco and
the rest of LA's first call sessioneers. Check out Al Hazan right here--
it's Living Legend Time!
Avi
and Me - World-pop folk-rock only begins to describe the musical
world of Avi and Me. It's a world-pop party 24/7 for the Australian native,
now based in Portland, OR!
Maryland's Big
Blow and the Bushwackers take "wildly eclectic" to the
next level with their one-of-a-kind blend of didjeridu, tuba, mandolin,
accordion, winds/brass, and drums. They might be bigger than giants!
Christine
Fellows - Christine Fellow's brooding, atmospheric chamber pop
continues the quirkily confessional tradition mined by the likes of fellow
Canadians Jane Siberry and Leonard Cohen. Naked and brilliant.
deep
sky divers - creating skillfully crafted ambient/new age instrumental
music and songs since 1991.
Dewey
Decibel takes pure pop to the next level, with a dash of geek
thrown in for good measure. Fountains of Wayne fans will feel right at
home.
Ellsworth
& Hicks - Brooklyn’s singing/songwriting Odd Couple, Ellsworth
& Hicks have been doing it their own way for the past 15 years. Hard to
categorize, easy to love!
The
Fur Ones Experimental pop music featuring groovy beats, electronics,
hammond organ & vibes, cool female vocals, scratchy samples.
GeradorZero is Brazil's Fabio FZer0, a one-man electronic wizard. GZ's range of influences
is vast, encompassing elements of rock, Brazilian and electronica, whirled
together into something exciting and unique.
The
eccentric Brit-Pop of the Jazz
Butcher Conspiracy has been a thing of troubling beauty for over
twenty years, and head conspirator Pat Fish and company just keep getting
better!
Jim's
Big Ego - "UNpop for the UNpopulous!" Boston's
Jim Infantino's unpop trio amazes with stream of consciousness lyrics
and straightahead rocking. Jonathan Richman fans and Gen X'ers will unite
behind his anthemic "Butthead." Way cool.
J.P.
Taylor is a singer-songwriter of "Enviromusik" bringing focus
to environmental issues through rhythmic, guitar-driven songs.
Max

a new album - Disaffection. Its killing, and
taking no prisoners. Check it!

Research Turtles - Delicious power pop served nice 'n HOT!
Sabrina - Sabrina's darkly passionate music bears a trace of her Belgian roots,
David Bowie "Heroes" era, and Chrissie Hynde. Now living in
NYC, her hypnotic power alt-rock could be the City's soundtrack.
Sandcastle
Theory - Melodic pop rock hailing from Guelph, Ontario, highlighting
the songwriting team of Tim Tibbitts and Kal Mollison. Influences include
Counting Crows and Jeff Buckley- dig it!
Shibboleth - Themes for Imaginary 70's Sitcoms? Shibboleth's wry sophistication is
too edgy for Muzak, too droll for Lounge, too good to miss! Instrumental,
essential- see you in the elevator.
Stavia - Based in London, Stavia is an exotic-pop singer/songwriter whose influences
include Kate Bush, Carly Simon, and World Music. First class tunes, great
band!

nod to Joe Satriani with his blend of Instrumental Rock, Jazz and Blues.

Logan - Scotland's Willie Logan sites a line of badass guitar
slingers as influences: Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore, among others.
High energy chops!
